Atlanta, GA – July 7, 2015 – The Society for Information Management (SIM) Atlanta and the Georgia CIO Leadership Association will be presenting the 2015 Tee it Up for TechBridge Golf Tournament on October 26, 2015. Honorary Co-Chairs are Miriam McLemore, CIO, Global Functions at The Coca-Cola Company and Anil Cheriyan, CIO at SunTrust Bank. This year’s tournament will be at a new location: The Golf Club of Georgia. At the new location, sponsors will be able to have double the exposure as last year given the additional 18 holes for a total of 36 holes.
Last year, proceeds amounted to $91,500, surpassing 2013 by $10,500. All donations benefit TechBridge®, a nonprofit that provides technology/business services to empower other nonprofits to further their community impact—impact that translates into more meals served, more families housed and, ultimately, more lives changed.
A record turnout of over 176 golfers, including more than 70 IT executives, participated in the 2014 tournament. Chairman of SIM Atlanta, Dave Chatterjee, expressed the importance of supporting TechBridge stating that “Empowering and uplifting our community…that’s why we [SIM Atlanta] choose to back TechBridge. By empowering TechBridge, we’re empowering nonprofits to increase their good works and increase their impact.”
Tee It Up’s 2014 Keynote sponsor, Insight, also stressed the need to back events and organizations like TechBridge. Greg Arthur, Regional Vice President – East at Insight professed that “…organizations like TechBridge are a wonderful example of how business technology can be used to help countless lives of those who need it the most, and we are proud to sponsor TechBridge and the valuable work they are doing for the advancement of the nonprofit community as a whole.”
