Atlanta, GA — June 5, 2015 — Today marked the completion of the 11th annual Technology Community Habitat House made possible by the partnership of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and TechBridge®, a nonprofit that drives community impact by providing affordable technology and business expertise to other nonprofits.
Keys to the community built home were presented to the new homebuyer at the dedication ceremony on June 5, surrounded by family members and build sponsors. Fifteen corporate sponsors and 280 of their IT professionals came together to empower our community by donating $80,000 and over 2,200 hours to make this new home a reality for a hard-working family.
TechBridge acknowledges the dedication of the 2015 Technology Community Habitat House sponsors and their IT professionals that made such a positive impact through this project:
- Big Nerd Ranch
- Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta
- GE Power & Water
- InterContinental Hotels Group
- MDI Group
- Principle Solutions Group
- Pyramid Consulting
- SEI—Atlanta, LLC
- Southern Company
- Teradata Corporation
- The Coca-Cola Company
The Coca-Cola Company kindly donated beverages to help keep volunteers well hydrated throughout the project. To reinforce the technology theme of the build, the sponsors also gifted the new homeowner with a printer, a computer desk, and a new laptop, equipped with donated Microsoft software—keeping true to the IT community’s ambition to help close the digital divide and promote digital literacy throughout the city.
The Technology Community Habitat House is a wonderful example of the IT community’s fervor to improve our community—and thus people’s lives—through their generosity and influence. And we are so thankful for Habitat for Humanity and feel privileged to support their mission.
