2015 Alabama Digital Event Series Highlights
TechBridge® is pleased to announce that the inaugural 2015 Digital Event Series in Alabama has sparked the IT community’s imagination for what technology can make possible for Alabama’s nonprofits.

The first event, the Digital Cocktail hosted by Blue Cross Blue Shield Alabama, celebrated the work that TechBridge is doing to advance local nonprofits thanks to the generous support of the Alabama technology community.

The culminating Digital Dinner event welcomed 125 guests to the Cahaba Grand for an elegant evening in celebration and support of leveraging technology to alleviate social challenges in the Alabama community.

Alabama Digital Dinner highlights:

    • Raised $77,000 from 19 sponsors to further the TechBridge mission in Alabama.
    • A live crowdfunding campaign to adopt a critical technology project for Grace House Ministries, a long-term group home for girls (ages 6-21) in Fairfield, AL, who have been removed from the custody of their families due to abuse or neglect. The crowdfunding campaign well-exceeded the goal of $5,000 and received pledges totaling $9,430. Coupled with a $5,000 match from TechBridge, these generous pledges are now transforming the educational tracking and delivery process at Grace House Ministries.
    • Alabama Power Company CIO, David Cox, announced that through the Alabama Power Foundation TechBridge was awarded a $10,000 grant to provide technology assessments for six Alabama nonprofits—Alabama Possible, Better Basics, Children’s Aid Society, M-POWER Ministries, Pathways, and West Central Alabama Area Health Education Center. Each received a technology assessment to provide a roadmap to achieve stability and operational efficiencies and to leverage technology to grow their missions.
