TechBridge Announces New Educational Partnerships |
Atlanta – July 1, 2010. Atlanta-based TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to do more and serve more people, is pleased to announce the continuation of its popular Technology Education (“TechEd”) Series thanks to new Series Presenting Sponsors: The Home Depot and Motorola Mobility. The TechEd Series provides affordable, high-quality educational seminars and a forum for peer-support to encourage nonprofits to integrate technology into their business. Since its inception in 2004, the Series has provided over 1,000 nonprofit executives with valuable access to experts in fields including technology planning and budgeting, disaster recovery, hosting, collaboration tools, and information security. “Atlanta’s technology community continues to generously provide access to vital information to hundreds of nonprofits each year through our TechEd Series,” said TechBridge CEO, Kathleen Kurre. “Their financial support and donations of time and expertise make a tangible impact on our community by enabling nonprofits to harness the productivity gains from technology long since enjoyed by the corporate sector.“ “We are proud to be a part of TechBridge’s TechEd series this year,” said Kevin Hofmann, VP-IT at The Home Depot. “Giving back is one of The Home Depot’s core values, and our IT associates are looking forward to providing their technical expertise and helping hands to nonprofit organizations through TechBridge and these forums.” “The technology choices available today often overwhelm organizations focused on serving their community. As a result, there are lost opportunities in the nonprofit sector. The TechEd series helps nonprofits identify technology solutions that will help them serve their community more effectively,” said Mark Orlandella, National Distribution for Motorola. “Motorola is proud to partner with TechBridge and The Home Depot on the TechEd series to make solutions happen.” The first session in TechBridge’s 2010 TechEd Series is slated for August: a panel discussion on the effective use of social media – what it is, who is using it, and how it can be used successfully. The Series is complimentary for TechBridge nonprofit members. Other nonprofit registrants are asked to pay a nominal fee of just $25. For more information about the Series or to register, nonprofits can visit www.techbridge.org/services/techEd.aspx. Additionally, TechEd Seminar sponsorships are still available.
