TechBridge announces the dates for their 2016 Alabama Digital Event Series in celebration of the impact of technology on nonprofits.
Birmingham, AL – September 28, 2015 – TechBridge, a nonprofit that drives community impact by providing affordable technology and business expertise to other nonprofits, has announced its second year for the Alabama Digital Event Series. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, Alabama Power Company, Insight and Spectrum Business Enterprise Solutions are just a few of the premier sponsors that are supporting TechBridge to serve Alabama’s nonprofits.
This series of three events, hosted by TechBridge’s Alabama Advisory Board, gathers local IT leaders and professionals to celebrate the impact of technology on the nonprofits that serve the community. These events foster new connections for the IT industry as well as introductions to innovative ways supporters can drive impact—like through TechBridge’s Adopt-a-Nonprofit program.
The inaugural year for the Alabama Digital Event Series sparked the local IT community’s imagination for what technology can make possible for Alabama’s nonprofits. The series culminated in a Digital Dinner event that welcomed 125 guests to the Cahaba Grand Conference Center and raised $77,000 from 19 sponsors to further the TechBridge mission to serve nonprofits in Alabama.
Other highlights included:
- A live crowdfunding campaign where a critical technology project for Grace House Ministries, a long-term group home for girls (ages 6-21) in Fairfield, AL, was adopted.
- Alabama Power Company CIO, David Cox, announced that through the Alabama Power Foundation TechBridge was awarded a $10,000 grant to provide technology assessments for six Alabama nonprofits: Alabama Possible, Better Basics, Children’s Aid Society, M-POWER Ministries, Pathways, and West Central Alabama Area Health Education Center.
