Southern Company discovers two-way exchange in hiring entry-level employees from TechBridge Technology Career Program

[Atlanta, ] — Following a partnership between TechBridge and Southern Company, Andre Dickens (technology career program director at TechBridge) and Cheryl Pressley (data analytics and reporting manager at Southern Company) spotlighted the power of opportunity to non-traditional students at the Technology Career Program. The Technology Career Program provides a bridge from communities and families to Atlanta’s technology employers through transferable market-ready skills.
Pressley reflected on the benefits of newly trained tech employees becoming part of a more experienced internal team. She highlighted the value of newly credentialed employees introducing new tech skills plus the enthusiasm contributed to the whole team sparked by someone taking their first steps into a technology career.
In just 18 months, the Technology Career Program has experienced tremendous success. Highlights include a 90-percent graduation rate and an average annual salary exceeding $56,0000. Graduates are joining top companies including Accenture, The Coca-Cola Company, Anthem, Equifax, NCR, and Wellstar.
