Savvy Cyber Kids (SCK) provides cyber-safety and cyber-ethics education and awareness sessions for parents, teachers, and students from preschool through high school. Volunteers are provided the tools to go into schools to help students (pre-K to 2nd grade or 3rd to 5th grade) learn about personal internet safety, bully response, technology balance, digital reputation, and privacy. Children learn how to remain safe and be empowered to make appropriate decisions in their online worlds.
Established in , SCK is a nonprofit, 501c(3) organization. SCK clients include academies, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools as well as organizations including The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Cox Enterprises Teen Summit VIII, Cub Scouts, the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education CIS Consortium, Girl Scouts, and McKesson Corporation.
SCK’s founder, Ben Halpert, has presented at IEEE, ACM, CSO50, CISO Summits, the Worth Safety & Security Summit, the RSA Security Conference, InfoSec World Conference & SecureWorld, and many other events. Ben is the award-winning author of The Family Gets a Computer, The Defeat of the Cyber Bully, and Adventures Beyond the Screen, a cyber safety book series.
