YWCA-AL In-Kind Gifts Analysis & Targeted Donor Campaigns

The Problem/Challenge:
After migrating from Raiser’s Edge to Salesforce in 2023, YWCA-AL found it challenging to isolate the value of in-kind gifts from overall monetary donations, complicating targeted end-of-year donor campaigns.

The Techbridge Solution:
Techbridge customized Salesforce’s NPSP by adding custom rollup fields on Contact and Account objects to separately sum the number and dollar value of in-kind gifts. Historical records (over 11,000) were updated to reflect this new structure, ensuring that in-kind contributions were not included in overall giving totals.

The Impact/Outcome:

  • More accurate reporting of in-kind versus monetary donations was achieved.
  • The enhanced data structure enabled more targeted year-end solicitation campaigns.
  • Overall gift reporting is now more transparent and actionable.
