TechBridge partners to help displaced workers find gainful employment

ATLANTA, GA – TechBridge, Inc. a twenty-year-old Atlanta-based nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational poverty, through the innovative use of technology to transform nonprofits and communities, announced today that they have “upped their game” in terms of providing career coaching and employment services to its Technology Career Program graduates. TechBridge has entered into a strategic partnership with HR Knowledge Source (www.hrknowledgesource.com), an Atlanta-based HR firm. The partnership will offer graduates access to 80 years of collective experience from certified professionals in career coaching, professional development, staffing, and placement.

TechBridge launched its Technology Career Program (TCP) 3 years ago. TCP bridges a vital service gap by providing at-risk, underemployed, under-skilled, and displaced citizens with highly coveted technical certifications leading to middle-wage jobs. In addition to exiting the program with certifications, TCP graduates are provided with wraparound services ranging from financial literacy, how to thrive in remote working environments, resume writing, interviewing techniques and ongoing career coaching, which occurs after graduates have been placed with employers. “Programs like TCP are critical to the fabric of our communities. Gainful employment, especially when we can tap into middle-wage job opportunities, not only breaks the cycle of poverty but also serves as an annuity that continues to give back to society as a whole. Nothing is more important than getting our TCP graduates placed”, says Nicole Armstrong, CEO of TechBridge.

Established in 2013, HR Knowledge Source (HRKS) is a certified minority woman-owned business led by Sheree Knowles. Prior to founding HRKS, Sheree held several highly visible senior-level HR positions, for companies with regional and national geographic footprints, including VP of HR for a $1B professional services firm. Knowles and her staff are accomplished practitioners who have achieved multiple certifications and designations including EQi 2.0 (Emotional Intelligence); Diversity & Inclusion (D&I); SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources); CPM (Certified Project Manager); MBTI (Myers-Briggs); and DiSC. Prior to shifting into Human Resources, Sheree spent the early part of her career in Workforce Development – she was very involved in several ‘welfare-to-work’ programs, having served as an Employment Specialist and Employment Readiness Trainer. Knowles architected and led a workforce development program for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta called Accelerated Business Professionals (ABP). The program served as a community-based outreach and outplacement firm for degreed professionals. “We are very excited about our partnership with TechBridge. We’ve worked with TechBridge for the last two years as their HR team. We are intimately familiar with the phenomenal job they are doing to lift up our Atlanta communities and provide opportunity and hope to those that need it. We are looking forward to extending our services to TCP, and tapping into our extensive experience in workforce development, specifically as it relates to career coaching and employment. The pandemic has amplified the need for this”, said Knowles.

TechBridge’s TCP program has grown and expanded greatly over the last few years. TechBridge’s reliance on partners like Goodwill of North Georgia, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Accenture, WorkSource partners, local counties like Cobb and DeKalb, and too many additional partners to name, are a big part of what makes TCP so special. TechBridge, now partnered with HRKS, remains fervently committed to impacting and changing lives – one family and one community at a time.
